Abi's Out and About's

 

  Over this weekend I attended a retreat for American Heritage Girl Florida troops. There were 20 troops there, not including my troop FL3130. In fact, I was the only girl from my troop. Nevertheless I enjoyed the different sessions on leadership as well as getting to know the 8 girls in my Cabin group called Humility. 

 Thursday 10, 2024 Ezra, Apphia, and I found the weather so fantastic today we decided to get out the bikes and ride to town! On the way we stopped for free Jr. Chocolate Frostys at Wendy's. After eating them at the Keystone Beach we realized how full of heights Keystone really is.  Ezra took the lead and biked us around the neighborhood. Biking past a friends house we saw them out for a walk! Biking around some more eventually led us past KHHS and to the Friendship Bible Church tennis courts where we found some more friends playing tennis. Of course we joined them and had several friendly matches of tennis. 

Wednesday 9, 2024 It rained all day. Because of Hurricane Milton, 5 extra firefighters stayed on duty at the Melrose Fire Station, making a total of 7 firefighters. Thankfully, there were little emergencies in our area, so it was a quiet, rainy day. Even though it was a quiet day, there were still truck checks and ice to be bagged.  Because of the extra amount of men, three trucks were in operation today. Ezra and I rode along on the Engine with 3 fire fighters while Papa drove the Brush truck with one other fire fighter.  During our "down time" fire fighters cooked, slept, and played College Football video games as well as just fellowshipping. Ezra and I were able to get FLVS, College, and Government/U.S. History done as well. 

 

  Hurricane Milton is expected to make landfall on Florida, Wednesday night, Thursday morning, As you can see from the map below central, to south Florida will be hurt the most. Please be praying for the people on the coasts and in the path of Milton. He is expected to have even more damage than Helene. 

Up + Up Tour - Colton Dixon   Sunday night, October 6, Papa, Mama, Ezra, Apphia, and I went down to Hudson Tampa to see Colton Dixon on his Up + Up Tour! Jeremy Rosado and Austin French were the two openers for Colton Dixon. During the concert everyone was vibing to the music. Ezra, Apphia and I sat in the very back near the sound booth. I believe that was the best spot because you could really feel the attitude of everyone around you. After the concert was over, we got to meet Colton.  However, during intermission, Papa and Mama let me sponsor a child through Compassion ministries, (with their help ofc!) I am sponsoring a little girl from Togo, Africa. Her name is Deborah and she is 6 years old. I will be able to send her letters back and forth with her, and she will also get a guaranteed meal and education every day! The Up + Up Tour was by far the best concert I've been to yet.
