American Heritage Girls Welcomes New Members! My name is Abigail Cook, a high school level American Heritage Girl, and I have enjoyed participating in AHG for several years. AHG has given me the opportunity to experience rock climbing, canoeing, camping, volunteer locally, practice leadership skills, and most importantly, develop my spiritual relationship with Christ Jesus. Please consider exploring this opportunity here in our Lake Region. What is American Heritage Girls? Founded in 1995, parents wanted American Heritage Girls (AHG) to be a faith-based, scout-type of program for their daughters to participate in. This program is dedicated to the mission of building women of integrity through service to God, family community and country. Why should I join? American Heritage girls is a fun place for all girls to experience belonging, learn skills about God, build lasting friendships, and learn important life skills. How can I contact AHG? --Troop FL31...

Oreotorio: A Sweet Symphony A Dramatic Choral Performance in Three Movements I. Shall we twist, or shall we bite? Oh, what joy! A pure delight! 🎶 (A deep bass voice narrates like an opera singer.) "From far above, the Oreo descends... a gift of sweetness, a treat without end!" II. The Temptation of the Twist (A dramatic soprano sings passionately.) 🎶 Do I twist and gaze inside? Or take a bite both smooth and wide? The crème so soft, the cookie bold, A tale of flavors—centuries old! 🎶 (Choir echoes: “Twist and gaze! Twist and gaze!”) (A baritone soloist, filled with emotion.) "Alas! My fingers tremble so… To split the cookie? Yes or no?" III. The Dunk of Destiny (Finale) (Orchestra swells as a chorus of voices joins in triumph.) 🎶 Now we dunk in milk divine, Let t...

Apphia and I are still collecting cans - and crushing them. I sort of may have broke the fence using the real can crusher, so I have changed my tactics. I am now just crushing cans with a cinderblock. It's actually far more convenient. Gold Head State Park are letting us take their aluminum cans off their hands, so as you can see below, we have a lot of cans to crush. =)

Hey y'all! So it has been a while since I've posted and a lot has happened since then. The family had a safe flight home from Hawaii, during which I broke my heart watching the movie White Bird, but still enjoyed the snacks. We had a total of 3 days at home before leaving again for Tennessee. During those days, a lot happened, and then during the week, staying at a different hotel each night kept us busy. Since then we've enjoyed getting settled back into daily routine: school, food, youth group, church, and overall flexibility =)
